Overview

The “Future Bangladesh in the Eyes of the Youth” is a national-level poster presentation competition organized by the Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir, Private University East. The event is designed as a platform for students of Private Universities across the country to conceptualize, research and visually present their forward-looking ideas and actionable roadmaps for Bangladesh’s next phase of development.

The competition focuses on generating innovative visions specifically within five fundamental pillars of national growth: Agriculture, Education, Technology, Economy and Urban Development. It combines the rig our of an academic submission process (abstract and separate title page) with the communicative impact of a poster presentation format.

Background

The necessity for this event is rooted in Bangladesh’s ambitious national goals, particularly the aspiration to transition into a developed, high-income country. Achieving this status requires strategic planning, technological advancement and socio-economic transformation across all sectors.

This competition is initiated with the understanding that the youth, who will be the leaders and beneficiaries of the nation’s future, must be actively involved in shaping it. By directing their innovative energy toward specific, high-impact categories (like Agriculture, which is vital for food security and Technology, which is critical for digital transformation), the event aims to connect academic research and critical thought with practical national development needs. It serves as a focused initiative to gather proposals that address current challenges and future opportunities within a structured, competitive environment.

Objectives of the Event

The primary objectives of the “Future Bangladesh in the Eyes of the Youth” competition are:

  1. To Generate Innovative Proposals: To solicit high-quality, research-backed ideas, models and policy recommendations from the youth on how to accelerate development within the five core categories.
  2. To Foster Critical Thinking: To encourage students and young professionals to analyze complex national challenges and synthesize solutions that align with the country’s long-term development goals.
  3. To Provide a Communication Platform: To equip participants with the skills to visually and concisely present complex data and ideas (via poster presentation) to a diverse audience of experts and peers.
  4. To Identify Emerging Talent: To discover and recognize promising young researchers and innovators who are passionate about contributing to national progress.
  5. To Initiate Dialogue: To serve as a catalyst for discussion among academic, professional, and student communities regarding the future trajectory of Bangladesh’s key sectors.

Significance of the Event

The competition holds significant value for the participants and the wider national context:

  • Empowering Youth Ownership: By centering the event on the “Eyes of the Youth,” it strategically positions young participants not merely as beneficiaries of national development, but as active architects of the future. This ownership is crucial for sustainability and successful long-term planning.
  • Bridging Research and Reality: The focus on practical, high-impact categories ensures that the research submitted is relevant to the real-world challenges facing Bangladesh’s agriculture, economy, infrastructure and human resources.
  • Incentivizing Quality: The provision of substantial prize money (BDT 1,00,000) and recognition act as a strong incentive, attracting rigorous, high-quality submissions and fostering a competitive academic environment.
  • Knowledge Contribution: The collective abstracts and posters generated from the event represent a valuable pool of future-oriented ideas that can be presented to policy-makers, academics and industry stakeholders, potentially influencing future development strategies.
  • Networking and Exposure: It provides an essential networking opportunity for young innovators to meet their peers and interact with senior figures and subject-matter experts within their respective fields.
